How to play Dominoes

Start Dominoes by looking at the playing area and its controls. Empty your hand, or hold fewer pips when both players are blocked. Look at what changes after your first action. Make your first input carefully and watch the result. Look at what changes after your first action.

Double-six draw dominoes, local two players with shared-screen visible hands.

Make the controls familiar

Locate the buttons and input area before beginning a long round. Use the on-screen labels to avoid an accidental restart. Notice the feedback after each input.

Your goal

Empty your hand, or hold fewer pips when both players are blocked. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Review the board or playing area as it changes.

Step by step

  1. Play a tile matching either open chain end.
  2. Choose which end to use.
  3. Draw only when no tile fits.
  4. Pass only with no legal tile and an empty stock.

Controls

Click or tap a piece and destination; use the turn indicator and legal-move feedback. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. A new-round button replaces the current round.

A useful example

An open 4 accepts 4–2, leaving 2 open. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Choose a deliberate next step.

Watch out for this

You cannot ignore a legal match to draw. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. Watch the feedback after an action. A message can explain whether the input was accepted or whether a rule needs attention.
